PRO's Mission Statement

  1. Provide proper nutritional supplies, adequate clothing, and necessary medical and vitamin supplements to the children in order to ensure a healthier life.
  2. Improve the living standard within the orphanage facilities so that the children may have a enviroment in which they might feel love.
  3. Increase the self-worth and the self esteem of the children by providing educational and talent fostering opportunities.

We believe that each child deserves to grow-up in a loving home with a father and a mother who support, encourage and protect their child. Since many orphans in Ukraine will not experience an ideal home, Project Reach Out is determined to help each child maximize their time in the orphanages by:

  1. Working with the local and national government to ensure each orphan’s physical and emotional needs are met.
  2. Providing proper nutritional supplies, necessary medical and vitamin supplements, and adequate clothing to the children.
  3. Improving the living standards within the orphanage facilities (remodeling) so the children may have a clean, safe and protective environment.
  4. Increasing the self-worth and the self esteem of the children by providing educational and talent fostering opportunities.

Why It Works:
The Ukrainian government recognizes Project Reach Out’s ongoing commitment to the children of Ukraine. All of the orphanages PRO has made long term commitments to now receive more government money, support and resources than other similar facilities. There are three main reasons for this:

  1. Success- In Lutsk, the number of adoptions has increased over 1,000% since we began doing humanitarian work there from 3 in 2000 to 33 in 2005. Healthier children are more likely to be adopted and by meeting the basic nutritional needs of the orphans, PRO is helping children find homes.
  2. Leadership- PRO solves problems. We do not waste time or funds and local agencies, workers and officials follow PRO’s lead by donating their own resources and ensuring projects are completed in a timely fashion.
  3. Pride- local governments do not want to be out done by a pair of young Americans. When officials realized PRO remodeled all the living quarters at an orphanage in Lutsk, the local government committed to build a new protective safety wall around the entire facility, making the orphanage more safe for the children.

Thanks to Project Reach Out hundreds of children throughout Western Ukraine are eating nutritious meals, sleeping in safe beds and living happier lives.

  • PRO raises funds.
  • PRO meets one-on-one with the directors of the orphanages and determines what the children really need.
  • PRO hires builders and contractors who also volunteer portions of their time and/or resources to ensure maximum results at minimum cost.
  • PRO buys local goods and delivers directly to the children - no middle man!
  • Local volunteers check up on donations and construction to ensure the donations are used for the children.
